GFS is the BEST!!! - April 3, 2008

I would like to introduce to some and present to others the most phenomenal high school choir on this side of Philadelphia, the Germantown Friends School Choir. I had the opportunity of chaperoning the choir on their choir tour throughout the southern states of the USA.
The melodious sounds of each voice combine themselves to make the choir a harmonious and vivacious spirit of life through the wonderful gift of song.
On one of the tour engagements in Tennessee, I was invited to join the choir in singing one of their gospel numbers, "Praise His Holy Name". There was the most incredible energy during that song. I think they enjoyed having me along...but I enjoyed singing with them even more!
If you don't believe me you can come and see for yourself. We will be reunited in song on Saturday April 5th at the Meeting House at Germantown Friends School. Be there or be square!
Love ya,
Dee

My Gloire - April 3, 2008

It brings me great honor to share with you the awesome privilege I have of being a part of a wonderful child sponsorship program called World Vision. Their vision for every child is "life in all it's fullness". Their prayer for every heart is "the will to make it so". My goal is to be a conduit for change, empowerment, and hope in the lives of others. This opportunity has been afforded to me by way of World Vision in that I have the pleasure of sponsoring a terrific little angel.

Glorie Nkimba Ndala is 6 years old. We actually share the same birthdate of January 25th. She is currently living in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. (click on the side link "photos" to view her picture)

Gloire lives with her relatives, 4 brothers, and 1 sister. Her relatives struggle to provide for the family.

Gloire and her family live in a community severely affected by the HIV/AIDS crisis. In some communities, AIDS affects the entire social structure as a generation of hardworking adults is being wiped out. Frightened children and exhausted grandparents rarely have money for food, school, or medical care.

Gloire is in primary school and she enjoys mathematics. She helps at home by washing dishes. She likes to play with dolls and she is in good health.

Today, wih a donation of $10, you will help provide Gloire and her community with the assistance they need to save a generation from the HIV/AIDS crisis. World Vision will faithfully use your donation support of Gloire to meet her needs and minimize the impact of AIDS in her community through tangible prevention and care programs.

In appreciation of your gracious gift, you will receive a copy of my CD entitled "Rest in Your Glory". A wonderful compilation of songs that will inspire, encourage and uplift every listener.
